In November, 2005, an earthquake hit Jiangxi Province and caused severe damages to Sanqiao Elementary School in Shizi Town, Jiujiang County. To help the children back to school as early as possible, DHL-Sinotrans and its employees had initiated a donation campaign among 56 branches nationwide for the school reconstruction project. On January 18, 2006, over RMB 200,000 were raised and handed over to the school. This was another DHL-Sinotrans’ relief effort following the delivery of over 300 survival kits to the disaster area last November.

To express their sincere appreciation to DHL-Sinotrans, the local people named the rebuilt school “Sanqiao DHL-Sinotrans Elementary School “. The new school is expected to open in September, 2006. The 580 sqm building will have three storeys, which can accommodate 350 students. Now the children can expect to study in safe and warm classrooms in the coming semester.
