DHL-Sinotrans officially launched TDD Import Express service to meet
New service covers 38 countries and territories in Asia Pacific and Europe
Beijing, 13 July 2006 – DHL-Sinotrans, the leading express company in China, announced today that it has officially launched TDD Import Express (IMP) service for shipments from Asia Pacific and Europe to China. The service offering is an extension of DHL’s popular TDD service, and is yet another demonstration of DHL-Sinotrans’ dedication to meet growing customer demand and sophistication with improved products and services. The initiative will further cement DHL-Sinotrans’ leadership in the Chinese market.
Import Express is a fast and reliable service that allows DHL’s customers to import goods from overseas suppliers. Since its launch in 1995, demand for the service has steadily increased, driven largely by increased trade flows and customers’ need for greater control over the cost, speed and reliability of their imports.
A suite of time-definite delivery products, DHL’s TDD portfolio comprises StartDay Express, which offers guaranteed door-to-door delivery by 9 am, and MidDay Express for deliveries by noon the next day. To support China’s growing trade with countries in Asia Pacific and Europe, DHL-Sinotrans combined its TDD and Import Express offerings, with the new service covering up to 38 countries and territories in Asia Pacific and Europe.
With the new TDD IMP service, DHL-Sinotrans’ customers will not only gain from the exemplary speed provided by TDD, they can now also enjoy the incorporated IMP benefits, such as the simplicity and control of having one point of contact, one fixed price and one invoice for all their import requirements with centralized billing -- significantly increasing the convenience of speedy cross-border shipments.
“The launch of our revolutionary TDD IMP service highlights a remarkable increase in customer demand, and is a significant step in our efforts to enhance our service offerings for our customers. Most importantly, this latest development would be a big boost for our customers who are in need of an urgent service for their time-sensitive shipments, both within Asia Pacific and from Europe, without going through the hassle of multiple billings, as the TDD IMP service would fulfil their needs.” said Wu Dongming, Managing Director of DHL-Sinotrans.
The new product offering combines the advantages of TDD and IMP services. Customers would be able to conveniently send their urgent time-sensitive parcels from countries in Asia Pacific and Europe to China in the shortest possible time.
